A section of Northern Pike in Monroeville connecting Route 22 to Route 48 will close for about three months starting March 16, PennDOT announced.

The road will be closed between Valerie Circle and Abers Creek Road starting at 9 a.m. March 16 through early June. The $1.4 million project won’t be finished until late July, PennDOT said.

Allison Park Contractors Inc. will do the work, which involves excavating a large portion of the slope between those roads and replacing it with rocks and soil nails to stabilize the hillside.

The two businesses located near the intersection of Route 22 and Northern Pike will remain accessible from Route 22. Local traffic on Abers Creek Road will be permitted, but all other traffic will be detoured.
