Monroeville Public Library is offering numerous programs for adults.

• Death Café, Sept. 16, in-person event. Doors open at 1 p.m. Please arrive early, as the event will start promptly at 1:30. Arriving late can be disruptive to the conversation.

Participants will break out into small groups and begin with introductions and icebreakers to get the conversation going, followed by open and respectful discussion. Please note this is not a grief support group, just a space for like-minded people to promote positive death discussion.

• Eagle Talk with Don German, 11 a.m. Sept. 23, hybrid event. This presentation on bald eagles is for nature lovers of all ages.

Eagle advocate and U.S. Steel plant manager Don German will return to talk about the aerie (eagle’s nest) at the U.S. Steel plant. He’ll discuss the fledglings that have hatched over the past few years, as well as their parents and the importance of biodiversity.

Those who attend in person will receive a free squishy eagle toy.

• Grief Gathering, 7 p.m. Sept. 27, in-person event. Hosted by death doula Diana McDade, the event begins with introductions followed by open and respectful discussion. All are welcome.

• Jazz Royalty: A Centennial Celebration, 7 p.m. Sept. 28, online event. Tom Roberts returns with more records from his rare, pristine, shellac-based 78 rpm records. He will focus on centennial commemorations for the great first recordings of King Oliver, “Mr. Jelly Lord” (Jelly Roll Morton), “King” Sidney Bechet and the Empress of the Blues, Bessie Smith.

• Calliope Folk Sing Along, 7 p.m. Sept. 28, in-person event. Singers and instrumentalists of all ages are welcome at this informal gathering of people who want to share songs.
