Spirit adds nonstop flight from Pittsburgh to Houston

Spirit Airlines this week announced it is launching nonstop flights between Pittsburgh and Houston.

The flights, linking Pittsburgh International Airport and Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport, are slated to begin June 5.

The airline also is launching a daily, seasonal service to New York-LaGuardia on May 8 and daily flights to Boston starting June 5.

The announcement comes as Pittsburgh’s airport saw its total passenger numbers climb 10% in March. So far this year, the airport’s numbers are up 8.1%, surpassing 2 million passengers in the first quarter for the first time since 2019.

Spirit will be one of three airlines providing nonstop flights to Houston from Pittsburgh. Southwest Airlines provides daily nonstop flights to Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport, and United Airlines operates three daily flights to Houston George Bush International Airport.
