2 injured in Washington County crash
Two women were transported to local hospitals after their vehicle crashed into a Washington County fire station on Saturday.
Shortly before noon on Saturday, first responders were called to the Richeyville Volunteer Fire Department on Firehall Road, where a driver had attempted to avoid debris on the road, lost control and struck a garage door at the station, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.
Neither woman was seriously injured, Richeyville’s chief told WTAE, adding that the damaged door would not affect the department’s emergency responses.
Firefighter injured in Homewood
A firefighter is in stable condition after being injured battling a blaze late Friday night in the city’s Homewood North neighborhood.
Pittsburgh fire crews leaving the scene of a fire on Race Street saw smoke coming from a residence on the 7000 block of Idlewild Street. Fire officials said the blaze rapidly spread from the first floor to the roof, triggering second and third alarms to bring additional crews.
One firefighter was injured while climbing a ladder when a section of gutter from the house. The falling debris struck the firefighter, causing them to fall backward onto the porch below.
They were taken to an area hospital and are in stable condition.
The fire was brought under control around 1 a.m., according to fire officials. No one was in the building when the fire began.
3 in stable condition after Clairton shooting
Three teenagers are in stable condition after being shot Saturday night in Clairton, police said.
First responders were called to the 400 block of Park Avenue just before 11 p.m., where they found three teenage males with gunshot wounds.
They were taken to area hospitals in stable condition.
