2 Pittsburgh firefighters injured battling row house blaze

Two Pittsburgh firefighters were injured early Monday while battling a blaze in Pittsburgh’s Hazelwood neighborhood.

Officials told TribLive news partner WTAE the firefighters were treated at the scene and did not require hospitalization.

The fire was reported at about 1:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Glenwood Avenue.

Flames spread from one row house unit to an adjacent one. Both were unoccupied.

Additional details, including the possible cause of the fire, weren’t immediately available.


South Side stabbing injures 2, leads to arrest

Pittsburgh police have arrested a suspect following a stabbing Sunday night that injured two male victims in the city’s South Side.

The stabbing was reported about 10:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of East Carson Street.

Each victim suffered stab wounds to his torso, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety. One was in critical condition, the other in stable condition as medics transported them for treatment at a hospital.

Officials did not release additional details about the suspect as of Monday morning.


Suspects sought in Oakland SUV theft

Police are looking for two suspects in a vehicle theft reported Sunday evening in Pittsburgh’s West Oakland neighborhood.

University of Pittsburgh Police posted online that they are assisting city police in an investigation of the theft that happened at about 5 p.m. in a parking lot off Iroquois Way and Coltart Avenue, in the vicinity of the university’s Murdoch office building.

University police said two male suspects were seen entering a dark-colored Honda HR-V SUV and driving from the parking lot onto Coltart, heading toward Louisa Street. Each suspect was wearing black sweatpants and a hooded sweatshirt. One sweatshirt was gray, the other black.
