Human remains found in Aliquippa
Human remains were found in a building in Aliquippa Thursday, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The remains were located in the area of 5th Avenue in the city.
The scene has been secured by Beaver County state police troopers and Aliquippa police, who will continue the investigation.
Pittsburgh Zoo collects old electronics, offers discounted admission
Visitors who bring electronic devices for recycling to the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium next week will receive discounted admission.
The zoo is offering a $15 admission rate Sunday through Saturday for every person who brings in a small electronic device they wish to recycle, the zoo said. Devices such as cellphones, tablets, smart watches or digital cameras will be accepted in any condition. Larger items like laptops will not be accepted.
Visitors will submit their devices for recycling at the front admission gates. Although the discount ends next week, the zoo will continue to accept devices for recycling throughout the year.
The devices will be mailed to Eco-Cell, a cellphone recycling organization created in 2003 that works with more than 100 conservation groups across the continent. Eco-Cell is a partner of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Gorilla SAFE program, which supports conservation efforts surrounding wild gorillas.
Primanti Bros. makes cents of ‘Coolest Thing Made in PA’ title
After beating out 63 other Pennsylvania-made products for the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry’s “Coolest Thing Made in PA” competition, Primanti Bros. will offer visitors a 2 cent sandwich for every classic Primanti’s sandwich purchased this Friday through Sunday.
The Pittsburgh-based restaurant won the title for the second year in a row.
For three weeks, more than 95,000 social media users voted in the tournament-style competition. Primanti Bros. was announced as the winner on April 11.
