Man shot in Homewood West

Pittsburgh police are investigating after a man was shot early Friday morning in a Pittsburgh home.

An adult man was shot in the back in a house in the 1400 block of North Murtland Street, which sits at the border of the city’s Homewood West and Homewood North neighborhoods.

Medics took the man to the hospital. Officials said he was in stable condition.

While conducting a sweep of the house to check for other victims, police found evidence of the shooting, officials said.

Police said the suspect is a man in his 30s. Officials said he fled the house before officers arrived.

An investigation is ongoing.


Juvenile injured in Perry North shooting

A juvenile was injured in a shooting in Pittsburgh’s Perry North neighborhood Thursday night.

Pittsburgh public safety officials said the shooting occurred around 9:45 p.m. in the 100 block of Watson Boulevard.

The female victim sustained graze wounds to her legs, police said. Medics took her to the hospital in stable condition.

Police received information that someone involved in the shooting was possibly in a nearby home. Officers were able to make contact with the suspect, who was detained for questioning.

The suspect, an adult woman, was taken to police headquarters for questioning, officials said.

Police conducted a sweep of the residence to ensure no other victims or potential suspects were inside.

An investigation is ongoing.
