Westmoreland Symphony program at library
Members of the Westmoreland Symphony will present a Nov. 6 program at the Delmont Public Library based on the story, “Itzhak: A Boy Who Loved the Violin,” and talk about some of the instruments used in the symphony.
There is no cost to attend, but registration is required by calling 724-468-5329 or going to DelmontLibrary.org.
Group will host medical marijuana program
The International Women group will meet at 9:30 a.m., Nov. 5 with guest speaker Molly Blasier, who will discuss the medical marijuana industry and her passion for health and wellness. Blasier will present a history of the plant including its recognition as a medical treatment.
All women in the community are invited to attend the program, held at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, 2310 Haymaker Road in Monroeville. Due to covid-19 concerns, the church’s babysitting service has been suspended until further notice.
Salem ice skating facility renamed
Center Ice Arena in Salem is re-branded as Palmer Imaging Arena as of Nov. 4, part of a new facility naming rights partnership with Palmer Products Imaging.
The arena is under new management, with plans for new naming rights to the ice rink and a new partnership with a sports pub within the arena.

Delmont library clothing collection will end Nov. 6
November 6 will be the final day that Delmont Public Library patrons to donate hats, gloves and scarves for donation to the homeless through Greensburg nonprofit Feeding the Spirit.
A donation box is set up inside the front door at the library, 75 School St.

Murrysville Woman’s Club to meet Nov. 18
The Murrysville Woman’s Club will meet at 11:15 a.m., Nov. 18 at the Penn Murry Kitchen, 5089 Cozy Inn Cutoff in Murrysville.
Lunch will be served at noon and the featured speaker will be Paul Selvaggio of the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium.

First Presbyterian Church to host fall seasonal sale
First Presbyterian Church in Murrysville will host its annual fall seasonal sale with fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas items on Nov. 6.
It will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Laird Hall at the church, 3202 North Hills Road in Murrysville.
Proceeds will go toward the church’s mission projects.

Spaghetti dinner to benefit FR Band Boosters
A Nov. 13 spaghetti dinner at First United Methodist Church in Murrysville will benefit the Franklin Regional Band Boosters and the Panther Marching Band.
It will be from 3-6:30 p.m. at the church, 3916 Old William Penn Highway in Murrysville.

AMVETS to host blood drive
AMVETS Post 85 in Murrysville’s White Valley neighborhood will host an Oct. 30 blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Appointments are recommended by calling 412-209-7000, but walk-ins will be welcomed.
