Officials from the Pitt Ohio trucking company donated a 2018 semi-tractor truck to students and staff at Forbes Road Career & Technology Center in Monroeville on Jan. 30.

Pitt Ohio Vice President of Fleet Services and Vehicle Maintenance Taki Darakos said he views the donation as more of an investment.

“Forbes is great because it supports 13 school districts. We need to create a path to build our own group of talented candidates, and we can bring students in and give them real-world experience on relevant equipment that’s going to help them,” Darakos said.

Pitt Ohio has similar partnerships with four other career and technology centers. Darakos said the donated truck is equipped with modern emissions sensors and other equipment that is not readily available to vo-tech students.
