With a win over the Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils, 28-19, the North Allegheny Tigers football team helped make homecoming 2025 a memorable night for fans Oct. 3.
This was especially true for the newly crowned king and queen, seniors Andrew Peigh and Mallory Kim.
Peigh, an at-large representative, and Kim, representing orchestra, were voted on by their fellow seniors from a total of 11 king and 11 queen candidates.
Each candidate represented various clubs and organizations in the district, and the full court was presented on the field during halftime.
Before the game, the district also held its annual homecoming parade, featuring various clubs and organizations, including the North Allegheny Tiger Marching Band, which performed in the parade and on the field.
The Best Buddies club won best in the parade, following the theme of the song “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from the animated movie “Toy Story.”
The marching band and cheer team tied for second place, according to Justin Karolski, a technology education teacher at the senior high and student activities director.
Student Council’s parade coordinators focused on making the event a huge success, planning at the start of summer and coming up with the overall theme of “Night at the Movies,” Karolski said.
“NASH students worked hard on every aspect of the event, from securing the food trucks to advertising the parade to building the lineup and ultimately building their floats,” he said.
Every student in the school has some opportunity for involvement, whether it is float construction, walking with a group or catching candy along the parade route, Karolski said.
“This event is an amazing one to build school spirit and community. It is a memory we hope students can look back on fondly. This year was a great success with large, spirited crowds representing and significant representation of all NASH clubs,” he said.
