An undersea world comes alive as North Allegheny’s middle schools present Disney/Pixar’s “Finding Nemo Jr.” on Nov. 16 and Nov. 18-19 in the North Allegheny High School Auditorium.
“ “Finding Nemo Jr.” is filled with so much energy hard work and talent. These kids have a gift not many others do. They will make you laugh, maybe cry, but hopefully, they won’t scare you,” said Ari Stuart, a student in the production.
The Nov. 16 and 18 shows are at 7 p.m. and the Nov. 19 show at 2 p.m. There’s a staff and Gold Card member performance on Nov. 15 at 4:30 p.m.
Clare White, an eighth-grader at Ingomar Middle, who plays Marlin. Sophia Campos, an eighth-grader at Marshall Middle, who plays Dory, and Delaney Shanley, an eighth-grader at Carson Middle, who plays Nemo.
Tickets for both musicals cost $14 and can be purchased through namusical.com or at the door. Gold members are admitted free.
“I joined the musical because I love to dance and sing. It’s something I’m really passionate about,” said Emma Ruby, a seventh-grader from Ingomar Middle School.
Sophia Borowski, an eighth-grader from Ingomar Middle School, said, “I’ve always enjoyed musicals because it is so fun and I get to meet new people. This year I am a dance captain and I really like being a leader and being a part of a supportive, positive environment.”
Emma and Sophia both dance in the play.
Stephanie Bragiel, who teaches chorus at Carson and Ingomar middle schools, is the play’s vocal director.
“ “Finding Nemo Jr.” is such a fun adaptation of the Disney/Pixar movie. The show is so energetic, and the students really enjoyed choreographing and singing all the numbers. Our directing team can’t wait to share all the hard work this amazing cast and crew have put into this production,” Bragiel said.
