5 drivers charged during roving DUI patrols in North Hills
The North Hills DUI Task Force charged three people for allegedly driving under the influence during roving patrols conducted Aug. 31 in Ross, McCandless and West View, according to authorities.
Police officers stopped 60 vehicles for various traffic violations during the patrols. Field sobriety tests were administered to seven of the people who were stopped, which resulted in the three DUI arrests.
One person also was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and another was charged with disorderly conduct.
Citations were issued for vehicle code violations to 18 of the drivers who were stopped.
The task force is staffed by officers from Shaler, McCandless, West View, Millvale, Ross, O’Hara, Indiana and the Northern Regional Police Department.
