9 Yards Golf to open 2nd location at The Block Northway in Ross
The Block Northway soon will host the second location of 9 Yards Golf.
The indoor golf experience and cocktail bar, which will feature South Korean Golfzon simulators, will sit on the second floor of the mall next to Dave & Buster’s. Four public bays and two rooms reserved for private events will be available, according to owner Joel Warshaw.
When Warshaw sought to expand out from his current location in North Strabane, Washington County, he said he searched for a spot that provided “easy access” to a market with customers interested in golf. He said he found that spot in Ross.
In a news release, Warshaw said he is looking forward to the North Hills and South Hills locations competing against each other.
Warshaw said the simulators at 9 Yards are advanced, featuring moving floors and the ability to putt. They are useful for casual entertainment as well as professional development, he said.
Public simulator bays can host up to six golfers at a time for $50 per hour, he said, while private reservations for events such as birthday parties can host potentially dozens of participants for $65 per hour. Warshaw said he also will offer membership options.
The North Strabane location currently offers appetizers such as mac and cheese and chicken tenders in addition to beer and cocktails.
Jamie Pavlot, director of experience at The Block Northway, said 9 Yards will be a “great addition” to the shopping center along McKnight Road, and she believes the “community will embrace it.”
“I know they’re very excited, and so are we,” she said.
Warshaw said he is eyeing August for the location’s grand opening, but the date is not firm. In the meantime, he said he already is thinking of where to put a third location.
