A school bus in the North Hills School District was struck by a garbage truck Tuesday morning on Roseland Avenue in Ross.

In an email to district parents, school officials said Highcliff Elementary students on Bus No. 696 were onboard when the truck backed into the school bus around 8:30 a.m., according to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI.

None of the 20 students on board reported any injuries, the letter said. Another bus was made available to take the students to school.

There was damage to the side of the bus, including several windows.

Affected families received an automated phone call about the accident.

Highcliff Principal Kristy Bilderback was not immediately available for comment.

Parents and guardians with further questions are asked to email Bilderback at bilderback@nhsd.net.
