Hilltop Holiday Town returns to North Hills High School
North Hills School District is once again putting out its seasonal best with the Hilltop Holiday Town, opening Dec. 3 at North Hills High School.
Due to covid guidelines last year, the school had a drive-through-only celebration.
However, this year they are going all out with activities for all ages.
“Last year’s Hilltop Night Lights drive-through display was a huge success, so we’re excited to expand upon the concept with this year’s Hilltop Holiday Town. We love how this event involves the entire district, from our clubs and athletics teams at the high school and middle school to our parent groups at our elementary schools. And then, of course, everyone in the community is welcome to attend,” said North Hills School District director of communications Heather Pelat.
There will be two sessions this year, one from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and another from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
Tickets are $20 per car. Parking will be at the baseball lot on the side of the annex. Participants will then walk through the Holiday Town, past the Middle School and over to the High School.
“Our goal is to have everything lit up and we will have some of our clubs and sports teams in front of their trees,” said activities coordinator Chelle Zimmerman.
The student clubs will have candy canes and activities for children.
“Santa will be here and we will have some tables set up to get hot chocolate or some other treat,” Zimmerman said.
There will also be a chance to purchase North Hills gear and gear from the North Hills Marching Band.
“All proceeds will go back to our North Hills families in need for the holiday season,” Zimmerman said.
Tickets are being pre-sold at Eventbrite.com. Purchases at the event for snacks or gear will be cash only.
According to the district, the outdoor Hilltop light display will remain lit and open to the public from Dec. 4-Jan. 22.
