McCandless council and the town’s planning commission will conduct a joint special meeting at 6 p.m. on June 5 to review and discuss the blueprint being created to outline challenges the community faces and ways in which they can be addressed.

The meeting is to discuss the municipality’s Implementable Comprehensive Plan, which has been in the works for the past year and a half.

A steering committee made up of residents and elected officials has been working with the town’s consultant, Pashek+Associates, to develop the plan.

The process has included a pair of sessions to gather input from residents as well as “pop-up” events to discuss the project and solicit ideas.

More information about the plan is available online.

The joint meeting will be held in the board room at the North Allegheny School District’s Central Central Administrative Building, 200 Hillvue Lane, McCandless.
