North Hills High School ninth grader Grace Zhou was recognized for her artistic talents at the district’s Dec. 5 school board meeting.

Superintendent Patrick Mannarino said that 50 students entered the school’s annual holiday card design contest. He said that when looking through results from previous years, he and the other judges found that Zhou had been a finalist in last year’s competition.

“She is a very talented artist,” Mannarino said.

He said that 700 cards featuring Zhou’s design would be mailed out from the school. She was also given a gift card, 50 printed cards with her design and a framed card featuring her artwork.
