North Hills School Board reorganizes following November election

The North Hills School Board welcomed one new and three returning members when it reorganized on Tuesday, Dec. 2.

Newcomer Anthony Hall was one of four Democrats elected to the board in November. Returning to the nine-member board are Sandra Kozer, Mike Santucci and Allison Mathis.

Elizabeth Nease left the board after losing her bid for reelection.

Allegheny County Judge Sabrina Korbel administered their oaths of office.

Mathis was reappointed as president of the board. Helen “Dee” Spade was reappointed as vice president.

Mathis has been board president since 2019, while Spade has been vice president since 2018.

The board reappointed Michael J. Witherel as the district’s solicitor and collector of delinquent school district real estate taxes.

Board members Rachael Rennebeck and Spade will continue to represent North Hills on the A.W. Beattie Career Center’s joint operating committee.

Jerry Muth, director of finance and business operations, was reappointed as treasurer.

All terms run through December 2026.

The board also set its meeting schedule for 2026. The meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Committee meetings will be held Jan. 8, Feb. 5, March 5, April 9 and 30, June 4, July 30, Sept. 3, Oct. 1 and Nov. 5. The Dec. 3 committee meeting also will be the annual reorganization meeting.

Legislative meetings will be held Jan. 15, Feb. 19, March 12, April 23, May 14, June 11, Aug. 6, Sept. 17 and Oct. 15.

The North Hills School District serves about 4,600 students from Ross and West View.
