North Hills School District recognizes seniors
Parents were included in the ceremonies honoring their senior students and accompanied them during the ceremony held during the North Hills vs. Fox Chapel football game on Oct. 22.
Senior Brenton Perkins, a member of the band and this year’s drum major, appreciated the effort put in by the district.
“It felt surreal walking through that arch at Martorelli. I couldn’t believe that I had finally made it to this point. That was our last home game and getting to spend it with my friends who made this trek with me was indescribable,” said Perkins.
“Honoring our seniors during senior night is a great way to recognize them for all of their hard work, not only during their senior season, but for all of the time and dedication over their entire high school careers to their sport or activity. It is a nice gesture to take a moment to honor them and their families,” said athletic director Patrick Weber.
Perkins was happy that he could celebrate with his parents as well.
“My parents are my biggest supporters and having them by my side made the night,” said Perkins. “I’m the oldest of four, so it was new for my parents. Being able to see how far I’ve come and all the hard work I’ve put in because of my mother and father added to the sentiment that surrounded the night. There’s nothing like it.”
