A section of Babcock Boulevard in McCandless that has been closed for repairs since June 10 reopened today to vehicle traffic.

The road was closed near its intersection with Fairfield Road for work to repair Little Pine Creek Bridge No. 11, the Allegheny County Department of Public Works announced Aug. 19.

The work included improvements to the storm water management system, concrete repairs, new guide rails and installation of a waterproofing membrane.

The project was done by Pugliano Construction of Pittsburgh as part of a $1.7 million contract to address six structurally deficient bridges in the county.
