Three of Ross Township’s incumbent commissioners were able to retain their seats and a new commissioner was chosen to represent her community for the next four years when the township held elections on Nov. 2.

The four openings on the board of commissioners were in Wards 2, 4, 6 and 8.

Ward 2 commissioner Democrat Chris Eyster will continue representing his constituents after getting 572 votes, beating out his Republican counterpart, Eric Ticjak, who received 507, according to the Allegheny County Office of Elections unofficial results website.

Joseph M. Leslavic of Ward 4, who ran on both tickets, and Democrat Jason Pirring of Ward 6 both ran unopposed and kept their seats.

Ward 8 saw Democrat Denise Rickenbrode beat out her opposition, Republican Matt Kruth. Rickenbrode got 588 votes while Kruth received 366. Rickenbrode will take over the seat left by commissioner Franny Salachup.
