Northern Regional Police charged a man with rape after a Pine woman told them he slapped her in the face when she repeatedly refused his advances and then forced her to have sex.
Tassy Fils-Aime, 32, of the 300 block of Bingham Street in Mt. Washington was charged with felony counts of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and aggravated indecent assault along with counts of simple assault and indecent assault.
Fils-Aime was released from custody on a $2,000 unsecured bond and ordered to appear for a preliminary hearing before District Judge William Wagner on Oct. 18, according to court records.
A Northern Regional detective wrote in a criminal complaint that the woman reported that she was at her home along Park Place with Fils-Aime on Aug. 12 when he asked her to have sex with him and she refused.
The woman said Fils-Aime responded by slapping her in the face and asking her again. He slapped her a second time before removing her clothes and forcing himself on her, the complaint said.
Police said the woman was treated at AHN Wexford Hospital where staff also collected a rape kit.
The woman’s medical records showed that she suffered bruises to her arm and waist from being held by Fils-Aime while she was being sexually assaulted, the complaint said.
