Norwin area: Church to hold ham bingo; Norwin Elks to hold luncheon for veterans; bus trip planned
North Huntingdon church to hold ham bingo
St. Stephen Byzantine Catholic Church at 90 Bethel Road, North Huntingdon, will hold its annual Ham Bingo from 1 to 4 p.m. March 17.
The doors will open at noon. The bingo will feature 20 games for $20. The will be specials, basket auction, a raffle and paint sticks are extra.
Food will be available for sale.

Norwin Art League to hold classes
The Norwin Art League is holding painting classes for adults and children in March and April at its office at 306 Main St., Irwin.
Oil painting classes are being held for painters of all skill levels on four Mondays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. beginning March 11.
The league will hold Fun With Art classes from 1 to 3 p.m. on March 10 and 24 and April 7.
Toddler art classes for children age 2½ to 6 will be on March 8 and 22 and April 5 and 19.

Artist Thom Tholen will offer six art classes in March and April in basic watercolor. To register for those classes, contact Tholen at 801-879-5554. The fee is $90 for the classes and $25 for materials.
Norwin/P-T Democrats to meet
Some area Democratic candidates who are running in the 2024 primary are scheduled to speak at the Norwin-Penn Trafford Area Democrat Committee meeting at 6 p.m. March 14 at the Norwin Public Library, 100 Caruthers Lane, Irwin.
The committee also will discuss plans to increase turnout for the April 23 primary.
Norwin Elks to host lunch for Vietnam War veterans
The Norwin Elks will recognize Vietnam War veterans and other United States veterans at a luncheon on April 2 at the Norwin Elks, Lodge, 135 Elks Lane, Manor.
The luncheon is being held in observance of the National Vietnam War Veterans Day, which was designated as March 29.
Space is limited to the first 130 veterans who register via phone with the Penn Trafford Area Recreation Commission at 724- 392-4555 during business hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Veterans can leave a message with their name and phone number.
The deadline for reservations is March 27.
Bus trip planned to see ‘Footloose’
A bus trip is planned to the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center in Midland for a performance of “Footloose: The Musical” on April 28.
The price of the trip is $150, which includes the admission ticket and dinner.
The bus will leave Norwin Hills Shopping Center at 11:45 a. m. April 28.

Symphony to perform near Delmont
Symphony East will kick off its 62nd season at 1 p.m. March 18 with four musicians from the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra at The Lamplighter at 6566 William Penn Highway in Salem.
Violinists Regi Papa, violist Marylene Gingras-Roy and cellist Mikhail Istomin will perform. A $10 donation is requested for adults.
There will be a luncheon at 11:45 a.m., prior to the performance.
