Church to sell pirohi

Stephen Byzantine Catholic Church at 90 Bethel Road, North Huntingdon, will sell priohi from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 28.

The potato and cheese pirohi and sweet cabbage are $14 per dozen; sauerkraut is $15; lekvar is $16; and cottage cheese is $17.

Pirohi may be preordered via the church’s website/Facebook preorder form at SaintstephenBCC.org at the drop-down menu on the right side of the homepage or call the chruch at 412- 627-1678.

Pick up starts at 10 a.m. Limited quantities are available if not pre-ordered.

Each Friday during Lent, the church will be selling potato, broccoli/cheddar, and tomato soups weekly, along with two different soups. A small container is $5 and $12 for a large container grilled cheese sandwiches for $4 and haluski at $5 and $12. Diners can eat at the church or take out from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lamp Theatre plans gala

Movie fans can dress in their old Hollywood best at The Lamp Theatre fundraiser gala with food, dancing and live entertainment on April 12 at the Live!Casino at the Westmoreland Mall in Hempfield on April 12.

The Golden Age of Hollywood: An Evening Affair will feature Hollywood decor, specialty drinks, interactive photo ops, a professional photographer, auctions and a $10 Live Casino Pittsburgh gift card. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Tickets are available at The Lamp Theatre box office at 222 Main St., Irwin. Tickets are $90 per person and $120 for a VIP experience, which allows entry at 5:30 p.m. and one free drink ticket. Tickets for a table of eight are $700.

Jobs agency holds food collection

Express Employment Professional at 4012 Route 130 in Penn Township is collecting food for the Westmoreland County Food Bank through March 28 to help needy families.

Donations can be dropped off at the Express Employment office on Route 130 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

The items most in need at apple sauce cups or pouches, fruit cups, granola bars, veggie straws, pretzels, crackers and rice crisp. Canned tuna or chicken, or peanut butter, cereal, canned fruit and vegetables, macaroni and cheese, boxed meals and canned meals also are needed. No glass jars should be dropped off.
