Improvements planned for Irwin parks
Irwin Borough is planning to make improvements to Irwin Park and Penglyn Park in 2024.
The borough received a $95,000 grant from the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources for general improvements to Penglyn Park on Ash Street. The design for the project, which includes improvements to the baseball dugouts, is expected to begin this year.
At Irwin Park, located off Pennsylvania Avenue, there will be resurfacing of the basketball courts and new fencing will be installed, said Steve Schmitt, borough engineer.
