Police: Pedestrian ‘critical’ after being struck by car in Forest Hills

A pedestrian in Forest Hills was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle Thursday morning along Ardmore Boulevard, according to Allegheny County police.

County 911 dispatchers reported that the incident occurred at about 5:30 a.m., with one person being transported by ambulance to an undisclosed hospital.

County police said first responders found a Nissan Sentra had collided with the pedestrian. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene, police said.

County homicide detectives and collision reconstruction officers are assisting Forest Hills police with the investigation..

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call the county police Tip Line 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.

The eastbound lanes of Route 30 were shut down between Yost Boulevard and Avenue B while first responders and the Forest Hills police investigated, the dispatch supervisor reported.

The identity of the pedestrian has not been released.
