News briefs: Scholarship opportunities available, dean’s list accolades and college graduations

Scholarship available
The Bob Williams Rotary Memorial Scholarship Committee is accepting applications for a $5,000 scholarship through February. The scholarship is available to eight high school seniors who plan to enroll in a state-certified college and who maintain at least a 2.5 GPA or to a GED recipient who intends to return to post-secondary education.
The deadline to file an application is Feb. 28.

Student news
• Emma Lintelman (College of Arts and Sciences), and Casey Horay and Carey Nestor (College of Health Sciences and Professions) qualified for the 2020 fall semester dean’s list at Ohio University. Ohio students who earned 12 semester hours of credit, including at least six hours attempted for letter grades, with a minimum grade-point average of at least 3.5 achieved the distinction.
• Athanasios Tziatzioulis (computer science) achieved dean’s list status during the fall 2020 semester at Widener University. The dean’s list recognizes full-time students who earned a grade-point average of 3.50 and above for the semester.
• Deborah L. Chapman graduated from Edinboro University in December with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology.
• Justin Manke of Verona graduated with a Masters of Science in recreation and sport sciences from Ohio University’s Gladys W. and David H. Patton College of Education in fall 2020.
• Corey Messenger graduated with a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Ohio University’s College of Health Sciences and Professions in fall 2020.
• Emily Bauer, Kaitlin Gionta and Ariana Nelson were named to Grove City College dean’s list for the fall 2020 semester. Students eligible for the dean’s list have a GPA of at least 3.40.
