Police are investigating the cause of a fire after a Penn Hills man was taken to Mercy Hospital with severe burns.

Penn Hills fire Chief Joe McMeekin told Trib news partner WPXI the fire does not appear to be an accident.

WPXI reported McMeekan said it appeared the man had “gasoline poured on him and was set on fire.”

Firefighters were initially called to the 2900 block of Laketon Road just after noon Sunday. The fire marshal is assisting in the investigation, according to WPXI.
