Penn Hills police and Allegheny County SWAT surrounded a home along Leechburg Road in search of someone Thursday afternoon only to find no one was home.

Police were looking for a man shortly before 1 p.m. inside a duplex in the 1900 block of Leechburg Road near the Penn Hills/Plum border.

“Our SWAT team cleared the home,” said James Madalinsky, public information officer for the Allegheny County Police. “No suspect was located.”

Penn Hills police have not yet released any information about the suspect.

Several intersections were closed to traffic during the incident. Emergency responders began clearing the scene about 1:30 p.m.

Mayor Pauline Calabrese said law enforcement agencies worked well with one another to secure the area and protect citizens.

“Public safety was never compromised, and we are impressed with the quick response from Allegheny County,” she said.
