32 new covid cases reported in the Penn-Trafford area between April 26-May 3, 2021

New covid-19 cases reported in the Penn-Trafford-Jeannette area continued to decline over the past week, according to data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

In all, 32 new covid cases were reported between April 26 and May 3 for the six ZIP codes covering most of the three communities. That’s compared to the 42 new cases reported between April 19 and 26. Since the pandemic began, the six ZIP odes have seen a total of 2,062 positive covid-19 cases.

As of May 3, there were 1,064 confirmed coronavirus cases, up by 11 since April 26, in the Jeannette 15644 ZIP code, which covers part of Penn Township. There have been 641 probable cases and 4,902 coronavirus tests with negative results.

In the 15085 ZIP code, which encompasses Trafford and part of North Huntingdon, the state found 521 cases as of May 3, an increase of nine cases since April 26. There were 234 probable cases in the ZIP code and 2,060 negative test results.

In the Harrison City 15636 ZIP code, there were 264 confirmed cases as of May 3, an increase of seven cases since April 26. There were 151 probable cases and 1,000 negative results.

In the 15665 ZIP code for Manor, there were 106 confirmed cases, an increase of four cases since April 26. There were 64 probable cases and 361 negative results.

In the Penn Borough 15675 ZIP code, there were 55 confirmed cases as of May 3. There was no increase since April 26. There were 36 probable cases and 244 negative results.

The Claridge 15623 ZIP code had 52 confirmed cases, an increase of one case since April 26. There were 24 probable cases and 242 negative test results.

A significant portion of Penn Township is grouped under the Irwin 15642 ZIP code. That ZIP code has seen a total of 3,092 confirmed cases, up by 43 since April 26.

Penn-Trafford School District reported a total of 191 covid cases since the school year began, with seven active cases as of May 3.

Westmoreland County has had a total of 22,228 confirmed cases, 10,600 probable cases, 746 deaths and 96,167 negative tests since the start of the pandemic.
