44 new covid cases reported in Penn-Trafford area between March 31-April 5, 2021

Forty-four new covid cases were reported in the Penn-Trafford-Jeannette area between March 31 and April 5, according to data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Since the pandemic began, the six ZIP codes covering most of the three communities have seen a total of 1,878 confirmed cases.
As of April 5, there were 991 confirmed coronavirus cases, up by six since March 31, in the Jeannette 15644 ZIP code, which covers part of Penn Township. There have been 573 probable cases and 4,672 coronavirus tests with negative results.
In the 15085 ZIP code, which encompasses Trafford and part of North Huntingdon, the state found 448 cases as of April 5, an increase of 10 cases since March 31. There were 197 probable cases in that ZIP code and 1,963 negative test results.
In the Harrison City 15636 ZIP code, there were 242 confirmed cases as of April 5, an increase of 12 since March 31. There were 125 probable cases and 969 negative results.
In the 15665 ZIP code for Manor, there were 100 confirmed cases. There has been no increase since March 31. There were 61 probable cases and 349 negative results.
In the Penn Borough 15675 ZIP code, there were 51 confirmed cases as of April 5, an increase of two cases since March 31. There were 34 probable cases and 228 negative results.
The Claridge 15623 ZIP code had 46 confirmed cases, an increase of six since March 31. As of April 5, there were 18 probable cases and 235 negative test results.
A significant portion of Penn Township is grouped under the Irwin 15642 ZIP code. That ZIP code has seen a total of 2,868 confirmed cases, up by 55 since March 31.
Penn-Trafford School District reported a total of 164 covid cases since the school year began, with 17 active cases as of April 5.
Westmoreland County has a total of 20,571 confirmed cases, 9,151 probable cases, 707 deaths and 91,845 negative tests since the start of the pandemic.
