Penn-Trafford area: Women’s group to hold fundraiser in Trafford, pancake breakfast and more

Women’s club to hold ’80s party fundraiser

The Community Women’s Club of Level Green is going back in time for its fundraiser planned for 5 p. m. April 1 at Club ’80s, 427 Cavitt Ave., Trafford.

The event, “I Want My MTV,” will feature a Radical gift basket raffle that contains several popular movies from the 1980s, including “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “Dirty Dancing,” “Mystic Pizza,” “Top Gun,” and “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.”

There will be a $5 cover charge at the door. A disc jockey will start playing at 8 p.m.

The money raised from the event will benefit community charities and service projects the club provides, such as the Safety Town and Light Up Level Green.

Tickets are available from a women’s club member or by contacting the club via its Facebook page at facebook.com/LevelGreenWomensClub/. Those buying tickets in advance get five free raffle tickets.

Pancake breakfast planned

The Level Green Lions Club will hold a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon March 18 at the Level Green Community Building, 123 Murrysville Road, Level Green.

All you can eat buttermilk or buckwheat pancakes, with and without blueberries, with sausage and a beverage, will cost $8 for adults and $4 for children.

Library to hold book sale

The Penn Area Library in the Penn Township Municipal Complex in Harrison City will hold a used book sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 10 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 11.

Bereavement group to meet

The New Life Presbyterian Church, 326 Raymaley Road., Harrison City, is holding a bereavement group meetings for those mourning the loss of a loved one, whether recently or in the past, on the second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m.

The group will meet in the church’s South Building.
