Pine-Richland High School senior Udbhav Akolkar has been named a semifinalist for the 2024 class of the Coca-Cola Scholars Program. More than 1,500 high school seniors were selected as semifinalists from a pool of over 103,800 submitted applications from across the country based on their academic excellence, leadership and service demonstrated in school and community activities. Coca-Cola selects 150 scholars each year to receive a $20,000 scholarship.
Wyatt Courville spent fall break serving others through James Madison University’s Alternative Fall Break Program. Courville volunteered with Carolina Tiger Rescue.
For the second straight year, Pine-Richland Middle School eighth grader Tisha Joshi earned the highest score in Pennsylvania on a Level 5 practical piano performance examination administered by the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Ontario. The nationally standardized piano examination requires students to memorize three pieces of solo piano repertoire from different time periods, play technical requirements such as scales and etudes, sight read and also tests ear training. Tisha will receive a certificate of excellence from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto for earning the highest score in the state of Pennsylvania for her level.
