Pine-Richland musicians selected for regional band festival

The Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 1 Senior High Band West Festival was held on January 11-13, 2024 at Peters Township High School. Participating from Pine-Richland were juniors Will Tamburri and Lilliana Bogle, and sophomores Ryan Noir and Jiwon Lee.
From the event, Ryan, Will and Lilliana have been selected through competitive audition to participate in the PMEA Region 1 Band Festival, which will be held Feb. 22-24 at Deer Lakes High School.
Students win award for video
In December, students from schools throughout western Pennsylvania and Ohio participated in the 2023-24 Digital Media Arts Consortium 48-Hour Film Competition, sponsored by Robert Morris University.
The competition required students to write, shoot and edit a video in 48 hours. The video also required a prop, character and genre.
Pine-Richland ninth graders Madison Began, Piper Brooks and Amelia Doughty and eighth grader Audra Farrar won the award for Best Editing for their video “Cindy Jane.” Trophies will be presented at the DMAC Spring Festival on April 18 at the Robert Morris University UPMC Events Center.
Beattie student of month
Pine-Richland senior Logan Trembulak was named an A.W. Beattie Career Center student of the month for November/December in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
Honors Band selections
Eleven Pine-Richland High School students were selected following a competitive audition to perform with the Allegheny Valley Honors Band on Jan. 5 at Hampton High School: senior Regis Welsh; juniors Elaina Anderson, Thomas DeVito, Sydney Rovnan and Will Tamburri; sophomores Ashlyn Casale, Jiwon Lee and Ryan Noir; and ninth graders Chase Bisti, Alex Goss and Cody Leeper.
