The tents and trucks were set up and ready to go.
Mother Nature had other ideas.
Hampton’s first Pints in the Park event of the season got off to a soaky start, with steady rain creating less-than-ideal conditions around 5 p.m. The precipitation eventually tailed off, giving guests an opportunity to sample a variety of food and beverages.
The township launched Pints in the Park last year to rousing success, both in attendance and good luck when it came to the weather. And everyone involved looks forward to enjoying the remainder of the 2024 series, with events scheduled from 5 to 9 Fridays, June 28, July 26, Aug. 23 and Sept. 27 in the parking lot outside of the Hampton Community Center.
Strange Roots Experimental Ales is the presenter, and each evening features live music and entertainment for youngsters.
Regarding other community events, the Hampton Farmer’s Market opens June 5 and continues every Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m., with the exception of July 3, which is Hampton Community Day. The township announced farmer’s market vendors for this season:
Mazzotta Winery, Russelton Bee Works, Gabriel’s Gardens, Carlos Aviles Farms, Hugh’s Heirloom Herbs & Sew Cute, Pittsburgh Artisanal Soap Co., Bloomview Farm , Syrian Aroma Mediterranean Cuisine, Modish Makes, Biscuit Bites, the Greensgrowers, Pittsburgh Pastures , Sips Mobile Bar, Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck, Shivers Shaved Ice and Renewal by Andersen.
