Allegheny Health Network’s mobile covid-19 testing unit will visit the Duquesne area on Friday.

The testing unit will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. outside of Duquesne Elementary at 300 Kennedy Ave.

The testing sites do not require a doctor’s order.

To be tested, patients should either be experiencing symptoms of covid-19 — including fever, cough or shortness of breath — or believe they are at risk because of contact with a confirmed covid-19 patient.

Appointments are encouraged to minimize wait times.

Test samples are collected via a nasal swab. The process typically takes less than 30 seconds, not counting wait times, according to AHN.

Test results typically take five to seven days, but wait times may be longer as testing volume increases, AHN oficials said.

AHN encouraged patients to stay in their homes while awaiting test results. Anyone who receives a positive test result may be issued additional care orders or directed to continue self-isolation.

To make an appointment, call 412-687-7348.
