Allegheny County adds 14 new covid cases, no deaths

Allegheny County Health Department officials reported 14 new covid-19 cases and no new deaths Sunday.

The total number of deaths countywide remained at 168, while the total number of confirmed and probable cases rose to 2,003, according to the county. The first cases were reported in Allegheny County on March 14.

No additional patients were hospitalized in the county, bringing the total number of hospitalizations to 350 since mid-March.

Roughly 80% of covid-19 deaths in Allegheny County have been patients age 70 or older, according to county statistics.

About 58% of cases in Allegheny County have been patients over the age of 50. There have been 25 cases reported in children under the age of 9 — none have died. No one age 30 or younger has died of covid-19 in Allegheny County.

In total, the county has administered 36,195 tests during the pandemic.
