Allegheny County reports 27 new covid-19 cases, 1 new death

Allegheny County health officials reported 27 new covid-19 cases, one new death and no new hospitalizations on Tuesday.

That brings the county’s total number of coronavirus cases to 2,113, including 1,979 confirmed cases and 134 probable cases, county health officials said.

The total number of deaths increased by one to 174. Of those, 162 are confirmed to be linked to the coronavirus and 12 are probable, county health officials said.

More than 300 Allegheny County residents have been hospitalized for coronavirus-related issues since March 14, when the first case was reported in the county. The number of hospitalizations remained at 357 on Tuesday.

Women have made up 54% of the total cases.

More than 42,700 county residents have been tested for the virus.

The breakdown of Allegheny County covid-19 cases is as follows:

0-4: 14 (1%)

5-12: 22 (1%)

13-18: 35 (2%)

19-24: 136 (7%)

25-49: 707 (34%)

50-64: 549 (26%)

65 +: 650 (31%)
