An employee of the Eat’n Park in Avalon has tested positive for covid-19, but the restaurant remains open, a spokeswoman confirmed Sunday.

The employee last worked in the restaurant on June 22, spokeswoman Becky McArdle said. She said no other employees have tested positive for the virus.

McArdle said the restaurant chain has worked closely with the Allegheny County Health Department since officials first became aware of the test result, and have been following the health department’s guidance closely.

McArdle said the health department determined that it was unnecessary to close the restaurant, located at 1002 Ohio River Blvd.

“They have thoroughly reviewed all of our cleaning processes and are confident that our ongoing safety and cleaning procedures are providing a safe environment for guests and team members,” McArdle said.
