A Beaver Falls native, who was previously an intern at KDKA-TV, is poised to join the station as a meteorologist.

Mary Ours shared the news on social media this week. She has been a weekday meteorologist at WJAC in Johnstown since 2016.

Ours grew up in Beaver Falls and is a 2008 graduate of Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School in Midland, according to her Facebook biography.

She is a 2012 Point Park University graduate and earned her meteorology certification through Mississippi State University.

Ours interned at KDKA when she was at Point Park. “My dream has come true and I’m heading back near my hometown to join the amazing team of meteorologists at KDKA,” Ours wrote in a Facebook post. “I can’t wait to be doing what I love in the city that I love!”

Prior to working in Johnstown, Ours worked at WTOV in Steubenville.

KDKA didn’t return requests for comment and Ours deferred to her social media comments when asked about the news. Friday is her last day in Johnstown.
