A woman was struck by a car while riding a bicycle Wednesday night in Pittsburgh’s Friendship neighborhood, officials said.

Shortly after 8 p.m., emergency dispatchers received a report the incident at the intersection of Baum Boulevard and South Negley Avenue, near where Friendship meets the city’s Shadyside neighborhood.

When officers arrived, the woman was alert and did not appear to have serious injuries. She told first responders she was hit by a white vehicle “that did not stop,” Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesman Maurice Matthews said.

Police did not provide further details. Officials did not say whether the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene.

Medics took the woman, who was not identified, to a nearby hospital to be evaluated, Matthews said. She was in stable condition.

Pittsburgh police continue to investigate.
