A Port Authority of Allegheny County light rail train and a car collided Tuesday afternoon in Dormont, officials said.

The car and the train crashed at about 1:45 p.m. at the Red Line crossing near the Hillsdale crossing in the 1500 block of Hillsdale Avenue in Dormont, according to Port Authority spokesman Adam Brandolph.

One person who was in the car was hurt and transported to St. Clair Hospital, Brandolph said. There were six people on the rail car, he said.

Port Authority was advising riders to expect delays of 20 minutes or longer.

The tracks were re-opened at about 2:40 p.m., Brandolph said.
