The Community College of Allegheny County is hoping to reach more students by expanding its evening, weekend and online class offerings.

CCAC said in a news release the changes are designed to be more flexible for students who may be working or busy with families.

Students also can receive online tutoring, class scheduling and instructor-led discussions in addition to face-to-face help.

Some certificate programs can be completed in a few semesters and are available in a variety of program areas for students who want to upgrade their skills or pursue a new passion. Weekend and evening offerings for certificates include accounting, paralegal, medical insurance, barber and computer forensics programs, among others.

Associate programs that can be completed on weekends or evenings include respiratory therapy, tourism management and radiologic technologist programs.
