Paul R. Lawrence, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Under Secretary for Benefits, will be on hand Monday at the Community College of Allegheny County to meet student veterans, reservists and their dependents who attend CCAC.

A CCAC spokesman said Lawrence will participate in an 11 a.m. roundtable discussion in the auditorium lobby at the Foerster Student Services Center at the school’s campus at 808 Ridge Ave., Pittsburgh.

The discussion, during which Lawrence will entertain audience input, will include student veterans and reservists, dependents, spouses and members of CCAC’s leadership team.

President Trump in April 2018 nominated Lawrence to be the seventh Under Secretary for Benefits. He leads more than 20,000 employees in the Veterans Benefits Administration.

The VBA, according to its website, provides benefits programs for veterans, including:

  • disability compensation
  • pension and fiduciary
  • education
  • home loan guaranty
  • vocational rehabilitation
  • employment
  • life insurance
  • Transition Assistance Program
