Sheriff’s deputies found a man wanted in a drive-by shooting hiding behind a wall in the attic of his girlfriend’s Mt. Oliver home Wednesday, authorities said.
Erik DeSean Addison, 24, has been on the run since late October when he allegedly opened fire on a vehicle on Route 30, killing Richard Littlejohn Jr., police said.
Littlejohn was driving home after leaving a gender-reveal party when police said Addison and another man followed Littlejohn from the party in another car. Police said Addison opened fire, causing Littlejohn’s car to crash into the other vehicle. A 10-year-old and 1-year-old were in the backseat of Littlejohn’s car.
Sheriff Bill Mullen said in a statement that deputies recently learned Addison was living with his girlfriend in Mt. Oliver Borough. When authorities surrounded the Margaret Street home Wednesday morning, three people showed themselves: Addison’s girlfriend, Noel Haten, 23; her brother, Jacob Haten, 20; and her brother’s girlfriend, Emily Kosko, 22.
The three told authorities Addison was not in the home, Mullen said.
A search of the house revealed otherwise, according to Mullen.
Mullen said officers found Addison after an hour of searching, and he was attempting to hide behind an attic wall.
Police said they also found a semiautomatic 12-gauge shotgun, a .40-caliber Glock with an extended magazine and suspected marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.
Both Hatens and Kosko were taken into custody.
Tyrone Freeman, accused of being in the car with Addison, was charged in connection with the shooting the night it happened. Freeman was taken to a hospital for injuries suffered in the crash before he was booked into jail.
Addison faces charges of homicide, three counts of aggravated assault, three counts of reckless endangerment, two firearms violations and receiving stolen property.
Freeman is charged with conspiracy, homicide, three counts of aggravated assault, three counts of reckless endangerment and a firearms violation, complaints showed.
The crash injured 10 people and shut down Route 30 for hours.
