The Forest Hills Community Pool will reopen Saturday.

Social distancing guidelines have been put in place to ensure safety. Anyone who has purchased a pool pass will be allowed in, according to the Forest Hills Facebook page. Swimmers can buy passes here.

The pool has been temporarily closed by Forest Hills Mayor Frank Porco to adhere to the Allegheny County Health Department’s previous order prohibiting gatherings of more than 25 people for a period of one week.

He posted this response on Facebook: “A member of our staff had contact with someone who in turn had contact with someone who lives with a person who tested positive for covid-19. Which make this staff member, two degrees separated from the person who tested positive for covid-19. Upon learning of this information, we immediately enlisted the help of a covid-19 subject matter expert who works for Allegheny County Emergency Services to conduct a back tracing exercise and we have determined that the risk of exposure to the staff is extremely low.”

No member of the pool staff exhibited any symptoms of covid-19 or tested positive for the virus, he previously told the Tribune-Review.

Hours will be from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Residents must call 412-241-2525 to register daily for a time slot between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.
