Mission of Mercy Pittsburgh will host a free dental clinic at PPG Paints Arena on Friday and Saturday.

The event is aimed at helping people who don’t have access to dental care or can’t afford dental insurance.

Doors open at 6 a.m., and the clinic begins at 7 a.m. Patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached.

Services will be provided for children and adults.

Services will include cleanings, fillings, root canal treatments on selective teeth, extractions, oral hygiene instruction and a limited number of temporary partial dental appliances. Pediatric dentists will be available to treat children.

There are no eligibility or income requirements.

Patients will undergo a medical exam to ensure they are able to be treated. Patients could be denied treatment if certain health concerns are observed, including high blood pressure, fever, high blood sugar or history of excessive bleeding.

Patients should bring a list of current medications, any current X-rays, water, food and baby supplies for a full day. Once a patient enters the building, they can’t go outside without losing their place in line.

Patients should enter through the main entryway at the Highmark Gate at PPG Paints Arena, located next to the Epiphany Catholic Church on Centre Avenue. It is near the Mario Lemieux statue.

Clinic officials recommend a child be accompanied by two adults. While one adult is being treated, the other adult must watch the child. If the child is being treated, an adult must be present.

Each patient will be eligible for one dental procedure per day. Patients can return the second day for an additional procedure.

A shuttle service will be provided for patients. There will be two routes, and the circuit for each route will be on the hour from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
