A landlord-tenant dispute involving free agent NFL player and Jeannette native Terrelle Pryor and his girlfriend has been resolved without a court hearing, according to online court records.
The complaint was filed by Heinz Lofts 10 days after a Nov. 30 fight between Pryor, 30, and his girlfriend, Shalaya Briston, that left Pryor with stab wounds and Briston in jail facing charges, according to criminal complaints filed against them.
Briston is charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault and is confined to her parents’ home in Munhall on electronic monitoring awaiting a Jan. 21 hearing on the charges.
Pryor, who nearly died from the wounds, is recovering and free on $25,000 unsecured bail. He is charged with simple assault in the case.
Heinz Lofts was seeking $1,827.60 in unpaid rent plus $400 in legal fees because of alleged violations of the lease agreement.
The complaint was withdrawn from District Judge Derwin Rushing’s court. A court spokeswoman said they were given no reason the complaint was withdrawn.
Heinz Lofts was represented by Pittsburgh attorney Alisa Carr, who didn’t respond to a message seeking comment. Pryor’s defense attorney Steve Colafella, his agent Mike Simon and Briston’s attorney Lee Rothman also didn’t return messages seeking comment.
Pryor is also awaiting a hearing in Westmoreland County court about whether he can keep his permit to carry a concealed firearm. Pryor was issued the permit in 2015 and former Sheriff Jonathan Held last month ordered Pryor to surrender the permit.
The notice Pryor received in the mail didn’t meet the requirements to revoke a permit, Colafella argued in a petition seeking a hearing on the matter. A hearing has yet to be scheduled.
