An 18-year-old man who police believe was not the shooter was arrested in connection with Wednesday’s shooting at the Charlie Batch Playground in Homestead.

Allegheny County police claim Demon Ross provided a gun to the shooter suspected in the incident.

Ross was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, possessing instruments of a crime and criminal conspiracy.

At 10:02 p.m. Wednesday, police received a call about a person shot at the playground, according to police. A 23-year-old man was found with several gunshot wounds to his lower body. He was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition, police said. Ross was not the shooter, police said.

The shooter still is at large. A description of the shooter is not yet available.

Police said the man who was shot was at the playground at 128 East 16th Street with a group of people when a separate group arrived. There was an argument and someone shot the man several times before fleeing the area, police said.
