A 26-year-old McKeesport man suspected of shooting and killing a man dating his ex-girlfriend was arrested early Saturday after leading police on a chase that ended with a crash into a hillside, police said.

Marcus Acie-Griffin was charged with homicide, aggravated assault, fleeing police and other charges.

Allegheny County police believe Acie-Griffin shot Kaine Williams, 34, also of McKeesport, several times with a shotgun outside of Williams’ residence on Sumac Street in McKeesport.

Williams was pronounced dead at 11:30 p.m. at the scene, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office.

After the shooting, Acie-Griffin was identified as a suspect and located by McKeesport police at 1:23 a.m. He then led police on a chase the crossed several jurisdictions, police said. It ended when the Acura that Acie-Griffin was driving hit three police cruisers, drove over spike strips laid by police and then crashed on a hillside on Madison Avenue in West Mifflin, according to police.

Acie-Griffin was unhappy that Williams was dating his ex-girlfriend and had been harassing Williams, police said.

No one was hurt in the chase, police said.
